Boys Basketball: Fatima 79, Licking 70

ST. JAMES - The Fatima Comets scored at least 20 points in three different quarters Friday, beating the Licking Wildcats 79-70 in the loser's bracket semifinals of the St. James Tournament.

Fatima, the No. 4 seed, held a 20-14 advantage against eighth-seeded Licking after one quarter. The Comets continued to lead 41-31 at halftime and 62-50 through three quarters.

Brett Werner and Lee Verslues each scored 25 points to lead the Comets, while Cole Lehmen added 13 points.

Fatima (8-6) will face seventh-seeded Salem at 3:30 p.m. today in the fifth-place game.
