Eldon's Hull competes in national golf tournament

PINEHURST, N.C. - Eldon's Kassidy Hull finished in the top 50 of the girls standings in the 2020 High School Golf National Invitational, which was held Monday through Wednesday at Pinehurst Resort.

Hull finished in a three-way tie for 39th place, posting a three-round total of 26-over 242.

The girls tournament, which featured 103 golfers from 28 states, was played on a different Pinehurst course for each round. Monday's round was on Pinehurst No. 8, Tuesday's round was on Pinehurst No. 9 and Wednesday's round was on Pinehurst No. 6.

Hull, who will be a senior at Eldon, posted a 13-over 85 on Monday, recording eight pars and seven bogeys to go with three double-bogeys. She improved with an 8-over 80 on Tuesday, birdieing the par-5 15th to go with eight pars and nine bogeys.

Hull saved her best for last Wednesday, finishing the 54-hole tournament with a 5-over 77. She birdied the par-5 15th and par-3 16th, adding nine pars and seven bogeys.

Hull was one of four golfers from Missouri competing in the girls tournament.

Nicole Rallo, a senior, and Mia Rallo, a junior, both of St. Joseph's Academy, tied for 22nd place with an 18-over 234. Kaydi Rhodes, a junior from Jackson, tied Hull for 39th place.

Loralie Cowart of Winston, Ga., won the girls championship, shooting an even-par 216.

A total of 225 golfers competed in the boys tournament, which was won by Arizona's Anawin Pikulthong, who shot a 10-under 206.
