Cross Country: Fatima girls dominate at own Invitational

WESTPHALIA, Mo. - The Fatima Lady Comets had the top-four finishers Saturday to cruise to a team title in the Fatima Invitational.

Alexis Fischer won the race for the Lady Comets. The junior clocked a first-place time of 20:01.06.

Kendall Haller was runner-up in 21:16.00, followed by Katelyn Vanderfeltz (22:12.11) and Alyssa Struemph (22:12.34). Kailey Woody also finished in the top 10 for the Lady Comets, rounding out the team score with a ninth-place finish in 23:21.52.

Fatima finished with 16 points, one shy of a perfect score in the team standings.

Eldon's Lauren Imler finished seventh with a time of 23:09.08. The Lady Mustangs were second in the team standings with 70 points.

Lighthouse Prep freshman Sara Gilbert took 10th place out of 50 runners, clocking a time of 23:28.87. The Lady Eagles were fourth in the fourth in the team standings with 93 points.

South Callaway's Raegan Brown finished 11th with a time of 23:52.93 to lead the Lady Bulldogs, who did not have enough runners to post a team score.

Jenna Wieberg of Linn was 12th with a time of 24:07.26. The Lady Wildcats were third in the standings with 73 points.

Tipton's Faith Ehlers also finished in the top 15. She placed 14th with a time of 24:20.88. The Lady Cardinals did not post a team score.

The Fatima boys also won a team title, placing five runners in the top 10 to finish with 34 points.

Dawson Woehr won the boys individual title for Fatima. The sophomore posted a first-place time of 17:51.40.

Maxson Muenks was sixth for the Comets in 18:23.95. Caden Haslag was eighth in 18:31.13, followed by Jake Boyce (18:35.94) and Thomas Libbert (18:41.80) to round out the top 10.

Tipton senior Isaac Ashton was runner-up with a time of 17:57.94. The Cardinals were ninth in the team standings with 212 points.

South Callaway's Daniel McDonald placed fourth with a time of 18:12.22 for the Bulldogs, who were fourth as a team with 141 points.

Eldon's Caleb Martonfi finished fifth with a time of 18:18.58. The Mustangs were fifth in the team standings with 143 points.

Logan Klouzek was 16th with a time of 19:12.20 to lead Linn. The Wildcats were sixth as a team with 144 points.

Lighthouse Prep's Seth Crawford took 29th place out of 75 runners with a time of 20:19.98. The Eagles were 10th out of 11 teams with 214 points.

California's JV team was 11th as a team with 246 points. Gaven McKee led the Pintos with a time of 20:29.93 to finish 31st.
