A total of seven area high school volleyball players were honored on the 2018 all-state volleyball teams, which were announced earlier this month by the Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association.
Helias led the way with three all-state honorees on the Class 3 list: seniors Callie Henson, Korie Otto and Ellie Rockers.
Blair Oaks and Calvary Lutheran each had two selected all-state. Senior Lauren Casey and junior Mariah Radmacher made the Class 3 list for the Lady Falcons, while senior Olivia Bexten and junior Maddie Layson were on the Class 1 team for the Lady Lions.
Rockers, an outside hitter, finished with 450 kills in 2018, breaking the Helias single-season record. She also had a team-high 374 digs to go with 41 blocks, 50 assists and 25 service aces.
Rockers is a three-time all-state recipient. She also made the all-state team in 2016 and '17.
Otto, a middle hitter, tallied 237 kills and had a team-high 69 blocks this season. Henson, an opposite hitter, was third on the team with 213 kills and finished with 55 blocks.
Helias finished the season with a 36-2-2 record, falling to eventual Class 3 state champion Logan-Rogersville in the state quarterfinals.
Casey, a middle hitter, posted 238 kills this season along with 75 total blocks. She also had 30 aces and 87 digs.
Radmacher, an outside hitter, finished with a team-high 256 kills, five shy of breaking the school single-season record. She added 220 digs, 23 aces and 22 total blocks.
Blair Oaks finished the season with a 30-3-2 record, losing to Helias in the Class 3 District 9 championship match.
Bexten, a middle hitter, had a team-high 281 kills for Calvary Lutheran. She also finished with 287 digs, 45 total blocks and 42 aces.
Layson, an outside hitter, posted team-highs of 315 digs and 55 aces. He added 66 kills and 43 assists.
Calvary Lutheran finished the season with a 27-10-2 record, advancing to the program's first Final Four and taking second place at state behind Advance.
