College Football: Hair throws two TD passes

DETROIT - Truman State redshirt freshman quarterback Nolan Hair had a pair of touchdown passes Saturday in the Bulldogs' 27-9 win against Wayne State (Mich.).

Hair (Blair Oaks High School) finished the game 14-of-27 passing for 148 yards with one interception. He completed an 8-yard touchdown pass to Jake Ellis in the first quarter and added a 45-yard touchdown pass to Tate Crane just before halftime to give Truman State a 20-3 lead.

Through two games this season, Hair is 25-of-47 passing for 226 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Sophomore cornerback Ben Thomas (Blair Oaks High School) was second on the Bulldogs with eight total tackles Saturday, six of which were solo stops. He also had a tackle for loss and a punt return of 26 yards.

Thomas has 12 total tackles through two games.

In Truman State's 31-14 season-opening win Sept. 4 at Davenport (Mich.), freshman defensive back Jake Closser (Blair Oaks High School) recorded two solo tackles and forced a fumble.

Truman State (2-0), which is receiving votes in the AFCA Division II Top 25 poll, will host Hillsdale College on Saturday.
