Lincoln women play today at Westminster

The Lincoln Blue Tigers will make a short trip north today to take on the Westminster Blue Jays in women's college basketball action.

Game time is 5:30 p.m. in Fulton.

Lincoln (3-2) is coming off its first road victory in almost three years, a 65-50 decision Saturday against William Jewell in Liberty. That snapped a 38-game road losing streak for the Blue Tigers.

Le'Yanna McGinnis totaled 18 points in the win for Lincoln, while Ayreona Carter came off the bench to add 12 points.

McGinnis leads the Blue Tigers in scoring at 12 points per game, followed by Kelsey Mitchell at 10.2.

Westminster (3-2), coming off a 70-57 home victory Saturday against Nebraska Wesleyan, will bring a two-game winning streak into the contest.

Reese Arnold leads the Blue Jays with 17.2 points per game, while Avylina Powell-Qualo is next at 12.2

It's the first time the two women's programs have played each other.
