College Softball: Dickerson lowers season ERA to national-best 0.67

BATESVILLE, Ark. - Columbia College senior Lexi Dickerson pitched 5 scoreless innings in Monday's doubleheader for the Cougars, who won 13-0 and 4-2 against Lyon College.

Dickerson (Eugene High School) earned the win in the opener, striking out five and allowing just one hit in three innings. She pitched 2 hitless innings of relief in Game 2, striking out three.

Following that performance, Dickerson lowered her season ERA to 0.67 ERA, the lowest nationally in the NAIA. In 105 innings, she has allowed just 10 earned runs - two total in her last 15 appearances.

Dickerson has a season record of 15-1 with 130 strikeouts.

Senior left fielder Carli Buschjost (Blair Oaks High School) went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI in Game 1, then had a two-run double in Game 2.

For the season, Buschjost is hitting .305 (25-for-82) with 31 runs scored, 20 RBI and 10 extra-base hits, including seven doubles.

Freshman Jodi Polly (Eugene High School) scored a run in the opener. She is 2-for-10 this season with eight runs scored.

Columbia College (30-5), ranked No. 9 in the NAIA, became the first American Midwest Conference team to go undefeated in conference play, finishing with a 17-0 record. The Cougars will host the AMC Tournament, which begins next Wednesday.
