PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico - Oregon freshman pitcher Makenna Kliethermes struck out all five batters she faced in her collegiate debut Feb. 7, an 18-0 win in five innings against George Washington in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge.
Kliethermes (Blair Oaks High School) was one of four pitchers the Ducks used in the tournament. The pitching staff combined to strike out 52 batters and allow just two runs in 32 innings.
The George Washington game was Kliethermes' only appearance during the Challenge.
Oregon (5-0) plays this weekend in the Houston Tournament.
