Your Opinion: Non-caring corporations

Dear Editor:

I would like to know if politicians and Big Pharma are in bed, and if so to what degree. This question came to me after reading the "COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters Could Mean Billions for Drug makers" article in our Sept. 26 News Tribune.

Could the big push on getting everyone vaccinated be not only a medical necessity but also a tremendous money maker for all of those who hold stocks in the Big Pharma corporations? Consider this;

"Moderna's projected 2022 revenue estimate has jumped 35 percent since President Joe Biden laid out his booster plan in mid-August. They are expecting Moderna to generate a $13 billion profit from vaccine boosters if authorized. (Is our government giving them money for research?)

Pfizer expects revenue from its COVID-19 vaccine to reach $33.5 billion. An increase of over the $5.8 billion they made on our suffering in 2020. (Is our government also giving them money for research?)

(Certainly, no one in our government owns stock in these conglomerates, or do they?)

Isn't it interesting in Europe, J&J and AstraZeneca have said they don't intend to profit from their COVID-19 vaccines during the pandemic. Do you think they might care about their people?

Isn't it wonderful how our uncaring Big Pharma only reports about their greed while so many are suffering and our economic situation in this country is getting worse by the hour? What is it going to take to get these over-inflated egotists off that mountain of money they are so proud of and start caring about the people of this country who have made them what they are?

I have written before that our people are becoming more cynical every day, more greedy every day, and more non-caring about their fellow citizen every day. Sadly it is all for the worship of a dollar without care for any of us, the people who used to trust them and have made them what they are.

God belongs in our country! It was founded on religious freedom, among other things, with the hope, I believe, the Ten Commandments would mean something. It is unforgivable when our government allows huge corporations to dictate the rules and become non-caring entities.
