Your Opinion: Emperor Biden has no clothes

Dear Editor:

Hans Christian Andersen published "The Emperor's New Clothes" in 1837 as a children's story, but these words are truly a parable for what's happening in our country today. In the story, an emperor hires swindlers to loom beautiful cloth for his new clothing but the swindlers only pretend to loom cloth. No one is willing to admit they can't see it for fear of not being "woke," in today's vernacular. The emperor dons these invisible clothes, parading around the city. Everyone sees him naked but lies to not appear stupid and congratulates him on his new clothes.

President Biden plays the role of our emperor and the press are the swindlers, the purveyors of falsehoods. Forget his cognitive issues, as one crazy policy after another is released, the press and the leftist base cheer him on for more. Just a couple examples:

Totally against the law, Biden opened our borders to illegal immigrants. No hesitation over COVID-19 exams, previous criminal history, human trafficking, drugs - welcome. We fly them where they want to go - on military aircraft no less. No passport or ID? You don't need them as an illegal. We pretend and give them a hearing date - with a 97 percent no-show rate. Need a hotel, money, phone? Here. Literally, illegal immigrants are entering America at the rate of more than 2 million per year. Biden portrays Immigration and Customs Enforcement as the bad guys - insanity. The swindlers don't even report it.

Energy policy: Biden shut down the Keystone XL, public lands access, and flooded the industry with regulations. At $5 a gallon, the press says "demand" is driving up prices. I guess we didn't have "demand" in the Trump era because gas was running sub-$2 - more nonsense.

Biden openly invites the censorship of conservative thinkers on social media. Don't contradict the emperor, Facebook jail for you!

LGBTQ and trans issues have exploded. Our military has reopened its doors. We worry about sensitivities; the Chinese are developing strategies.

Crime is breaking records coast to coast but the problem is not our people and our behavior; it's the guns, you know. Jan. 6 demonstrators are treated as though most fire-bombed and destroyed our Capitol. Oh wait, that was the federal courthouse in Portland. The Oregon demonstrators went home, the Capitol demonstrators are awaiting trial in solitary with no release of video.

Time to say the truth. Our "emperor" has no clothes.
