Your Opinion: Trump has condemned white supremacists

Dear Editor:

Once again lies are being spread about President Trump. It is now being said that he did not condemn white supremacists during the debate and that he did not condemn racists previously, especially the lies spread about his comments in 2017 regarding violence at Charlottesville. This paper has perpetrated these lies with articles printed by the virulent Trump hater Jennifer Rubin.

At the debate, Trump responded three times with the word "Sure" when asked to condemn white supremacists. An internet search reveals that he has condemned white supremacists multiple times. See https://news.yahoo.com/trump-did-condemn-white-supremacists-083012536.html.

At Charlottesville, he stated that "there are good people on both sides" referring to the discussion of the removal of statues of Confederate leaders such as General Lee. He condemned the violence committed at the location. In reference to Nazis and white supremacists, he said "I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists because they should be condemned totally." Anyone who says Trump did not condemn white nationalists is incorrect and sow racial divides in this country.

As I have proven in prior letters it is the liberals and Democrat who are the racists, anti-Semites, and sexists. Biden has praised segregationists as recently as 2010 when he eulogized the former Klan leader and Democrat Robert Byrd. In 1993 Biden referred to the United Daughters of the Confederacy as "an organization made up of many fine people who continue to display the Confederate flag as a symbol." He made racist comments about Blacks, immigrants from India, and been accused of sexual assault by a former intern. Will he be asked by any media to condemn his past comments or associations or the assault accusation? Will Jennifer Rubin be considered a racist by standing by a former vice president who has associated with racists and made racist comments? Why does the Tribune continue to reprint her commentary when she is promoting race hatred?

Biden has been endorsed by Richard Spencer, the alt-right leader, because of Trump's support of Israel and because his daughter and son in law are practicing Judaism. Biden has the support of other anti-Semites such the Ihlan Omar, Al Sharpton, and Linda Sarsour. Will the media ever ask him to condemn those people, and even if he does condemn them, continue to claim he has not? Of course they won't.
