It is not my intention to be a frequent LTE writer. I can't pass up the opportunity to thank J. Richard Smith's LTE published Jan. 2, 2020, pointing out what was not included in an earlier LTE from a frequent writer where additional facts were not included that occurred in the state of Iowa dealing with a 16-year jail sentence. Mr. Smith, your research is very much appreciated, and I thank you for sharing it.
A history instructor once told me, "if you know your history, demagogues will never sway you from the truth." I later learned in life, there are people who will only share the amount of truth that they want you to know, not the total truth. And one needs to conduct your own research as you can't trust anyone over 30 years of age.
