Your Opinion: Defending Dr. X and Dr. Z

Dear Editor:

In response to the article about the St. Mary's clinic on Truman Boulevard: Dr. X and Dr. Z have been a part of my healing for the last five years. I received home phone calls and many visits to the clinic. I can't believe anyone would criticize the doctors who have so much compassion for their patients. I was very close to death by a heart doctor who increased my Crestor and I ended up completely paralyzed. Dr. X-Dr. Z were with me every step of my healing.

I have had to wait while Dr. X and Dr. Z spent time with patients who needed to have a kind word. I didn't mind waiting past my appointment time because I knew that kindness would be part of my time in the office.

As for the front desk and the people who work there, that's their job to collect co-pays and schedule appointments. St. Mary's has all sort of salaries and the cost of operations. The front desk is always very professional and friendly with a smile.

Dr. X and Dr. Z are not machines. You do not put money in them with a timer and, when it expires, they don't proceed with your appointment.

It angers me that anyone could criticize the doctors for helping you heal. They both have spent as much time as necessary to let us heal.

I'm glad to vent this article in support of Dr. X and Dr. Z.

Maybe you should find a doctor who runs a tight schedule. But don't be late.
