Your Opinion: Disappointed in News Tribune

Dear Editor:

On Dec. 8, I was shocked to see that the comic strip in the full page Adopt-A-Pet ad clearly used the four letter “S” word in the third panel. This was an ad that would be attractive to children because of the many pictures of cats and dogs and the cartoon at the bottom. I thought how embarrassing this was for the Jefferson City Animal Shelter, the Second Chance Animal Shelter, All Paws, and Art’s Pest Control. I assumed it had been an oversight in editing but I did email Gary Castor and the advertising department, thinking I was one of many who would be bringing this to their attention. I expected to see an apology in Monday’s newspaper but found none. This is Tuesday morning and I could not find one in the newspaper today.

In May I renewed our subscription for $244.32 to have the Jefferson City News Tribune delivered daily to our driveway. I thoroughly enjoy reading your newspaper. I expected better from you.
