Your Opinion: Observations on your coverage

Dear Editor:

Occasionally, I feel compelled to speak when I believe someone has crossed a line or to compliment something positive. The president’s insults of Baltimore seem racially motivated. I believe Mr. Dyke’s Aug. 2 editorial cartoon was offensive and inappropriate when it supported that message. It is a challenge to decide how much support or opposition to publish regarding politicians’ actions. In general, I believe the editorial staff strikes a great balance.

It is painful to read about the damage we are doing to the environment, but I appreciate your candid reporting. Some consider climate change to be political, but increasing numbers of voters and government officials at all levels are recognizing it is impacting all of us. July was the hottest month ever, so we must all take prompt and significant action to prevent further damage.
