Concerns raised after robberies near Washington University

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Washington University police in St. Louis are urging students to be cautious after a series of robberies near campus.

Four robberies have been reported since Saturday, including three within about 15 minutes of each other Saturday night. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that armed gunmen punched students in two of the crimes.

No one was hurt but wallets, phones and other items were stolen. No arrests have been made.

Police believe the same two men are responsible for all four crimes. Campus police issued a crime alert and encouraged students to avoid sitting in a car to text or use electronic devices, and to run in a different direction if being followed.
