Big Brothers Big Sisters chili cook-off returns to the fairgrounds

It's time to break out your favorite chili recipe again.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City's annual Chili Cook-Off is back. And, it is returning to the Jaycees Cole County Fairgrounds.

The event is 5-7 p.m. Oct. 7.

Twenty-five competitors are to simmer their finest chili, competing for the People's Choice Award.

New this year is a cornhole competition. Cornhole participants will receive free admission to the cook-off with their team registration.

There's still time for anyone interested in participating in the cornhole tournament or entering the cook-off to register.

Tickets for the cook-off are $15 each.

Cornhole team registration is $75.

Entry fee for the chili cook-off is $50.

Proceeds are to be used to cover costs associated with enrolling, screening and matching children with bigs in the program.
