The Jefferson City School District lifted its attendance requirements for all outdoor sports and activities.

Indoor activities will be limited to 20 percent capacity for each venue.

The attendance policies apply to activities, such as sporting events, plays and concerts.

The district lifted its outdoor attendance limits because the rate of COVID-19 infections in the community continues to decrease, and health experts acknowledge outdoor events pose a lower risk than indoor events, according to a JC Schools news release.

The policy is subject to change depending on city and county health mandates.

For indoor events, such as plays and concerts, students and staff on the Missouri State High School Activities Association roster will be given cards, numbered 1-10. The students and staff members can give these cards to anybody to attend an event.

The cards will allow entry, but the card holder will still pay the admission fee. The number of cards allowed for each event will depend on the facility's capacity.

Masks and social distancing are required for all indoor and outdoor events. Concessions will be open, but only prepackaged foods will be offered.

Head coaches for visiting sports teams must sign a document stating their players and coaches all had temperature checks before boarding the bus and nobody has a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher.

Sponsors and other contributors can contact district or building activities directors to obtain event entry. Photographers must receive permission from an activities director to attend events, according to the news release.

Helias Catholic High School is still working on its attendance policy for spring activities, Communications Director Sandy Hentges said Monday.
