Probation ordered in Jefferson City chase case

A Jefferson City man has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with a chase with authorities in June 2019.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports state Jonathon Cooper, 30, was arrested for DWI.

Authorities were pursuing Cooper, who was driving his motorcycle in the 4800 block of Rainbow Drive, when he went off the right side of the road and overturned. He was treated for serious injuries.

Cooper pleaded guilty during a hearing before Cole County Judge Dan Green to felony resisting a lawful detention and to misdemeanor charges of DWI, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, exceeding the speed limit, failure to stop and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.

Cooper was placed on five years of supervised probation and must complete the alternative court program.
