Man charged in deadly southeast Missouri shooting

BERNIE, Mo. (AP) - A man is facing charges in the fatal shooting of a 62-year-old man in the southeast Missouri town of Bernie.

KFVS-TV reports that Anthony Jenkins Sr. was charged Monday with second-degree murder, armed criminal action and evidence tampering. He is jailed without bond.

The shooting happened Sunday afternoon. Officers found Timmy D. Carwile of Bernie fatally shot in an apartment.

The Stoddard County Major Case Squad continues to investigate.
