Jefferson City man facing federal drug charges

A Jefferson City man is facing federal drug charges after he was arrested Thursday afternoon.

According to Jefferson City Police Department reports, an officer spotted Charles Davis Jr., 36, at about 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Schnucks on Missouri Boulevard. Officers made contact with Davis, who reportedly was known to have a federal arrest warrant for weapons possession, and took him into custody without incident.

According to the probable cause statement, Davis possessed a large bag containing 26 grams of Ecstasy pills. During a search of his vehicle, three large bags containing about 3 pounds of what was believed to be crystal methamphetamine, an additional 27 grams of Ecstasy pills, 38 grams of marijuana as well as a small amount of heroin and prescription drugs were seized.

Along with the federal weapons charge, Davis is also facing numerous other federal drug charges.
