NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. — A newcomer and a former board member won two open seats on the New Bloomfield School Board in Tuesday's election.

Newcomer Doug Glick received 201 votes or 41.79 percent of the vote; former board member Craig Abbott received 149 votes or 30.98 percent of the vote. Incumbent Amy Pendleton finished in third place with 127 votes.

Abbott, who previously served on the board for nine years but has not been on the board for a year, thanked his supporters.

Glick said it was a humbling feeling. He father and grandfather served on school boards — his father was a school board member when Glick graduated high school and actually handed him his diploma.

"I just want to do a good job for the kids," Glick said. "I want to give back to the community and do what is best for the kids."
