A Tipton man was arrested for receiving stolen property after an incident Sunday in Moniteau County.
Deputies were called to a residence on Sids Road in an attempt to locate and execute multiple felony warrants for an individual believed to be residing at the home, according to Moniteau County Sheriff's Department reports.
A man other than the person authorities were looking for was contacted. This person was identified as Billy Petree, 28.
Petree told authorities the man they were looking for had been at the residence earlier.
Deputies searched the residence and reportedly found a handgun that was stolen from Owensville.
