12-year-old dies in Cole County crash

A 12-year-old Jefferson City boy died in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Cole County.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports did not identify the boy because he is a juvenile.

The crash occurred just after 10 a.m. on Route D at westbound U.S. 50.

Jason Fox, 48, of Jefferson City, failed to yield and traveled into the path of a vehicle driven by Shelby Alford, 22, of Jefferson City.

Fox, who was not wearing a seat belt, was treated for moderate injuries.
