Two people were hurt in a crash Tuesday night in Jefferson City.

Police reports show officers were dispatched around 6:36 p.m. to a single-vehicle rollover crash in the 300 block of Rock Hill Road.

According to a witness, a vehicle driven by Tyesha Comeaux, 20, of Jefferson City, was near the intersection of Cherry Creek Court and Rock Hill. Comeaux was reported to have accelerated quickly away from Cherry Creek, traveling southbound on Rock Hill. As Comeaux entered the 300 block of Rock Hill, she swerved to the left for an unknown reason. The sudden turn caused Comeaux to lose control and the vehicle began to skid and then rollover.

Officers said evidence from the scene suggests Comeaux was southbound and swerved to the left. The vehicle started to rotate counterclockwise while skidding southbound. The vehicle crossed the center of the roadway, went off the left side of road, and struck a raised concrete curb. The impact with the curb caused the vehicle to tumble over, almost one full rotation, coming to rest on the driver's side in a grassy area between the roadway and the sidewalk in front of Jefferson City Fire Department Station 3. Firefighters responded to extricate one of the occupants while the other had exited on her own.

Both Comeaux and her passenger, Latrell Batts, 21, Jefferson City, were taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of minor injuries. The Jefferson City Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating this crash.
