Winter conditions lead to numerous wrecks

A Columbia woman sustained minor injuries in a Friday morning crash in Callaway County.

Linnea Swansen, 21, of Columbia, was driving a 2015 Jeep at 8:38 a.m. Friday on westbound U.S. 54 near County Road 158 when she struck a 2017 Ford F250 driven by Mathew Brunk, 42, of Auxvasse. Swansen's car sustained moderate damage, and she was taken by private vehicle to University Hospital in Columbia.

Brunk's vehicle sustained moderate damage. He was not injured in the crash.

Kevin Kehr, 50, of Olean, sustained minor injuries when his 1992 GMC Sonoma slid off the road at 2:10 p.m. Friday. Kehr was traveling east of High Street in Olean when his car slid off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole.

His vehicle was totaled in the crash, and Kehr was taken by private car to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.

A Stover teen sustained moderate injuries when his car slid off the right side of the road and hit a tree Friday afternoon. Devin Isbell, 18, was driving at 3:20 p.m. on Missouri 52 near Bridge Lane at in Morgan County when his 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix slid off the road.

Isbell sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was taken by ambulance to Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia. His car sustained moderate damage.

A Kentucky woman sustained minor injuries after her car struck another vehicle Friday afternoon.

Tayna Miksell, 49, of Union, Kentucky, was driving her 2015 Kia Sportage at 4:10 p.m. Friday on Interstate 70 at mile marker 145.8 in Callaway County when she began to overtake a 1995 Freightliner Tractor Trailer driven by Justin Kreigh, 30, of Kendalville, Indiana.

Miksell's vehicle struck the driver's side of Kreigh's truck and caused both vehicles to travel off the right side of the road.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage in the crash. Kreigh was uninjured, and Miksell was taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.

Three people were hurt after a crash Friday afternoon in Callaway County. Melvin Underwood, 53, of Fulton, was driving a 1991 Dodge Colt at 4:48 p.m. Friday afternoon on Old Highway 54 near Larand Drive. Underwood's car slid across the center line and struck a 2003 Ford F250 driven by James Lutes, 33, of Warrensburg.

Underwood and Jason Childers, 33, of Holts Summit, were not wearing seat belts and sustained moderate injuries in the crash. Lutes was wearing his seat belt and sustained minor injuries.

Underwood's vehicle was totaled in the crash, and Lutes' vehicle sustained extensive damage.

All three men were transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.
