Dance parties return Friday to Capital Ritz after hiatus

Dancing returns to the Capital Ritz this week after a four-month hiatus due to pandemic concerns.

The Dance Mix Party begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Capital Ritz Banquet & Dance Center, 2716 Plaza Drive in Jefferson City. It will feature country, swing and ballroom music as well as line dancing led by Lynn and Roger Bisges and Janice and Lewis Buckner.

The is the first Ritz dance since New Year’s Eve and the first Dance Mix Party since Halloween. Like with most entertainment venues, many events at the Ritz were canceled for part of last year. They partially resumed operation during the second half of 2020 before pausing again at the start of the new year.

For safety precautions, masks will be available at the door but are optional. Hand sanitizer will be at each table, and tables will be placed 6 feet apart.

Water, beer, wine and soda will be available for purchase; no outside beverages are allowed.

The event costs $5 and is open to the public. Dress is casual. For more information, visit the Capital Ritz Facebook page.
