With a host of musical performances and arena acts, the Missouri State Fair returns today in Sedalia with something for every member of the family.
The state fair runs through Aug. 22. General admission tickets each day are $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and $3 for youth ages 6-12; children younger than 5 are free.

Tickets to grandstand and arena events are not included in the price of fair admission. Tickets are available through etix.com and the state fair box office on the fairgrounds.

7 p.m. today: Trace Adkins with comedian Dusty Slay - $25 grandstand/$35 track seating

CARNIVAL AND OTHER ENTERTAINMENT
The carnival midway at the state fair opens at noon on weekdays and 11 a.m. on weekends, weather permitting, and closes between 11:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. Unlimited carnival ride wristbands are available for $30 on weekdays (Monday-Thursday), $35 on weekends (Friday-Sunday) and $17 on the final Sunday. Discounts are available for family packs.
A slew of events and activities for the children are scheduled on the Kids Stage and throughout the fairgrounds, including the Sea Lion Splash show, a petting zoo, magic shows and the Puppies of Penzance act.
