Project HAPPY seeks to help women with personal growth

In an effort to help women with personal growth while having some fun and relaxation, Project HAPPY is on tap this weekend in Jefferson City.

The event, scheduled noon-5 p.m. Sunday, is hosted by Goddess Fit, She's Native, Carver & Jo, It Tastes Two and Campus Coworking Space, where the event will take place.

In a video on the Facebook event page, organizer Angela Bax said the event is for anyone who may be in a funk or struggling with something, but it's even for those who may be doing well but "want an extra push." In the age of a global pandemic, it's likely many could use some help, she said.

"Let's work through that," Bax said in the video. "What this day is going to entail is a group of women coming together, getting connected, sharing openly what they want to share."

Everything shared will remain confidential, Bax said. The event will include professional and experienced community leaders to help guide participants in "a day of personal growth."

Women as young as 16 are welcome to participate, as there will be two groups set up, one for ages 16-20 and one for those 21 and older. The day's itinerary includes speakers, journaling, meditation and more. As the event winds down, there will be a happy hour followed by a She's Native Sip & Shop event, which is open to everyone, starting at 4 p.m.

Attendees will receive a goody bag valued at $100, supplies for the day and food and drink. There are only 50 spaces available and, as of Tuesday, there were only five spots left.

Tickets are $25 and available at goddessfit.online.

"It is totally worth your time and something that I highly encourage you to be a part of," Bax said in the video. "This is a community effort to let you know, no matter where you are in life, we're all striving to be better in our own way."
