The Roaring '20s are back and stronger than ever for 2020.

If you're looking for a place to celebrate New Year's Eve in style - or simply with a glass of champagne - Jefferson City and the surrounding areas have plenty of events to offer, and they all come with something a little different. Whether you want local music, wine with dinner or to dance disguised in a Venetian mask, there's a party for you.

Below is a list of some of the area's New Year's Eve celebrations.

Jefferson City

Listen to classic rock 'n' roll, rhythm and blues, and country of the '50s, '60s and '70s as you munch on finger food at the New Year's Eve at Capital Ritz from 6 p.m.-1 a.m. at Capital Ritz, 2716 Plaza Drive. Music of the night will be by Faded Youth. Call 573-893-7787 to find out more information or to purchase tickets.

As F. Scott Fitzgerald once said, "at small parties there isn't any privacy." That's why the Capital Bluffs Event Center at 1616 Oilwell Road is hosting an NYE: The Roaring Twenties bash from 6 p.m.-12:30 a.m. General passes are $25, and include one drink ticket. Exclusive passes, limited to the first 100 people, are $40 and include a steak and Cajun shrimp dinner before doors open for general pass holders at 7:30 p.m. Two drink tickets are included with the exclusive pass. For parties of up to eight, tables can be reserved for $350 a piece. The table reservation will be on the main floor of the venue unless requested otherwise. If you choose not to reserve a table, seating is first come, first serve. To top off the night, each ticket purchase is entered into a midnight raffle. Costume and era-themed attire is recommended - flapper dresses are more likely to blend in than stick out at this Roaring '20s event.

Don't keep the children out of the holiday fun. SK8 Zone at 301 Flora Drive is hosting a New Year's Eve Party from 7 p.m.-1 a.m. Attendees will take part in a balloon drop at midnight, celebrated with a sparkling cider toast. Cost is $20, and you can call 573-636-5000 or 573-418-6764 for more information. All ages are welcome.

Kick back and listen to country with the Starlight Memories Band during the New Year's Eve Dance from 8 p.m.-midnight at American Legion Post 5 at 1423 Tanner Bridge Road. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the cost is $10. Attendees are encouraged to bring a snack to share. The event is open to the public.

The New Year's Eve 2020 Party, from 8 p.m.-1 a.m. at the Capitol Plaza Hotel & Convention Center, 415 W. McCarty St., is your chance to wear that elaborate gold mask you've been dreaming of. Dress code at the party is one of the more festive of the bunch, with cocktail attire, Venetian masks and costumes highly encouraged. The event will also feature a live DJ, carving station access and complimentary champagne for a midnight toast. Tickets are $40 for general admission and $100 for VIP all-inclusive. They can be purchased on Eventbrite or on the Facebook event page. Attendees must be 21 or older, and a photo identification is required.

If you want familiar company, listen as Burnin' Down The House sings down the time to 2020 during the NYE Party from 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. at The Mission, 915 E. High St. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door, and table reservations can be made for $25. The Mission will provide party favors and complimentary champagne at midnight. Tickets can be purchased through their website, themissionjc.com.

It's unlikely Spectators would miss a good New Year's Eve party. The local bar and grill at 232 E. High St. is hosting a Roaring 20s New Year's Eve Party from 9 p.m. The band Disengaged will take the stage at 9 p.m., and the Gatsby-themed party will include a champagne toast at midnight.

Take a step away from the '20s to listen to band 2 Screw Loose perform '90s songs. The NYE at Bones With 2 Screws Loose event will be from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. at Bones In The Alley, 210 Commercial Way.

Surrounding areas

If you're not yet over the Christmas cheer, visit the drive-thru Enchanted Village of Lights on its second to last day of the season from 5-10 p.m. at the Laurie Fairgrounds on North Fairgrounds Road in Laurie. There is no charge to drive through, but donations are accepted.

Take a step back into the world of "gangsters and molls" at the New Year's Eve Prohibition Party from 5:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. at The Branch in Lohman at 3007 Route D. A prime rib dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with bottomless beer, a champagne toast and other non-alcoholic drinks. Jack'son McDaniel and The Falling Rock will provide entertainment for the night, starting at 8 p.m. Era-themed dress is encouraged but not required. Tickets are $50-$500 and can be purchased through EventBrite on the Facebook event page.

Celebrate in charitable fashion for the Roaring '20s New Year's Eve Party from 7 p.m.-1:30 a.m. at the Brick District Playhouse at 613 Court St. in Fulton. The Playhouse is partnering with Serve, Inc. for a night of live swing music followed by a DJ. Tickets are $45-$100 and can be purchased through BrownPaperTickets. Each ticket includes appetizers and complimentary champagne to ring in the new year. Ticket proceeds benefit Serve, Inc. in Fulton.

Sneak away into the hills for the New Year's Eve Bash on The Hill from 7 p.m.-1 a.m. at Canterbury Hill Winery and Restaurant at 1707 S. Summit Drive in Holts Summit. Tickets are $52 and cover a buffet dinner, snacks and a complimentary champagne midnight toast. Show up in your holiday best and have a chance to win the "Hottie/Stud of the Party" prize. Call 573-896-9966 to make reservations, as there's limited seating.

The Columbia Jazz Orchestra will make an appearance for A Roaring 20s New Year's Ball from 8 p.m.-1:30 a.m. at The Blue Note at 17 N. 9th St. in Columbia. Take a walk down the red carpet, strike a pose in the photo booth or tip down vintage '20s-era cocktails - according to the event page, the club is going "all out" to ring in the new year. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 on the day of. You can purchase tickets at bit.ly/20sNYB. The ball is for ages 18 and older.

In true speakeasy fashion, the NYE 2020: The Bootlegger's Ball from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. at The Social Room at 220 N. 8th St. in Columbia comes with a secret - you'll have to follow their Instagram page (@socialroomcomo) for the entry password. Entertainment for the night will be by Seoul Train & Umami, and '20s-themed attire is encouraged but not required for entry. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased on eventbrite.com.
