College Golf: Lincoln women take second place at William Woods Invitational

FULTON -- The Lincoln women’s golf team shot a 318 Monday and Tuesday to finish second in the William Woods Spring Invitational at Tanglewood Golf Course.

Elliott Hull had the low score for the Blue Tigers despite competing as an individual, tying for fourth with a 78.

Divya Gunasegar, Kaathi Gunasegar and Marsya Nazri all shot a 79 to tie for ninth place, Mari Villamil shot an 81 to tie for 13th and Nyah Singh carded an 82 to finish in a tie for 16th.

Lincoln’s women’s golf team will be back in action Tuesday and Wednesday in the National Women’s Collegiate Championship in Katy, Texas.

The Lincoln men’s golf team took third out of 11 teams Monday and Tuesday in the Invitational.

The Blue Tigers shot a 301 as a team, led by Austin Shoemaker with a 73 that tied for sixth place.

Blake Meredith and Remon Rabie tied for ninth with a 75, Henry Mwanza shot a 78 to tie for 21st and Logen Prock recorded an 82 to finish in a tie for 40th.

Nico Tovar Cardono competed as an individual and tied for 27th with a 79.

The Blue Tigers will be back in action Monday and Tuesday in the Showdown at Shangri-La in Monkey Island, Okla.
