Prep Baseball: Blair Oaks goes 1-1 in pair of road games

The Blair Oaks Falcons went 1-1 on Saturday, defeating the Stockton Tigers 8-2 and losing 8-4 to the Logan-Rogersville Wildcats.

In Game 1 against Class 3 No. 7 Stockton, which was played at Springfield Catholic, the Tigers scored first in the top of the third inning, but the Falcons responded with eight unanswered runs.

Nolan Laughlin and Harrison Lear each had two singles and one RBI, while Warren Davis added a two-run single to start the scoring in the bottom of the third inning.

Hayden Lackman was the winning pitcher, throwing the first four innings while giving up an unearned run on two hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

Lear pitched two scoreless innings of relief, striking out four, and Hunter Hentges pitched the seventh inning to close the game.

In Game 2 at Class 4 No. 6 Logan-Rogersville, the Falcons struck first with a run in the top of the first inning, but the Wildcats answered with eight straight runs, scoring three in the third and five in the fifth.

Davis led the Blair Oaks offense, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Lackman and Lear each had two singles.

Riley Schnieders took the loss on the mound. In 4⅓ innings, he gave up eight runs on seven hits with four walks and five strikeouts.

Earlier Saturday, Logan-Rogersville defeated Class 4 No. 1 Father Tolton 6-1.

Blair Oaks (5-2), ranked No. 10 in Class 4, hosts Class 4 No. 7 Southern Boone in a Tri-County Conference matchup at Vivion Field. First pitch is at 5 p.m.
