The Helias Crusaders improved to 3-0 on the tennis season with an 8-1 dual victory against the Hickman Kewpies in Central Missouri Activities Conference action at the Crusader Athletic Complex.
Helias swept the three doubles matches. The team of Coen Loethen and Elliot Vollet won 6-2, 6-1, while Matt Liebsch and Eli Schmidt won 6-3, 6-1. Kendall Call and Alex Kampeter combined for a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
Winning in singles for the Crusaders were Loethen (6-2, 6-3), Vollet (2-6, 6-2 19-17 tiebreaker), Schmidt (6-2, 6-4), Call 6-2, 6-3) and Brock Jennings (6-1, 6-0). Liebsch lost 6-7 (6-8 tiebreaker), 2-6.
Helias is back in action Friday at home against School of the Osage.
In JV action, Helias finished 12-5 combined in singles and doubles matches against the Spartans.
