Former Jefferson City man sentenced to jail for drug charges

A former Jefferson City man was sentenced in Cole County to a year in jail after pleading guilty to drug charges.

Nathan Henry was sentenced by Cole County Judge Daniel Green to 365 days in jail with credit for time served. He pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance last week.

Court records show a search warrant was served in June 2020 in the 200 block of Chestnut Street.

Authorities reportedly found $11,785 in cash and 13 grams of dried marijuana, along with 1,002 rounds of 9mm ammunition. Cole County Sheriff's Office deputies reportedly found a loaded handgun in a backpack, used and unused syringes, two large scales, a vacuum sealer and numerous zip-lock bags.

Henry was initially charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon as well.
