Arraignment scheduled in stolen property case

A Jefferson City man is set to be arraigned later this month for allegedly receiving stolen property.

Jayeric Foreman was charged with one count of receiving stolen property. He is scheduled to be arraigned April 30.

Lyndell Dale was previously charged with first-degree burglary and stealing $750 or more in the same case. He is scheduled for a plea or trial setting next month.

According to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement filed in December, members of a local church called authorities July 29 to report the burglary of around $12,000 worth of electronics.

Surveillance video footage showed a male suspect, identified as Dale, checking several doors of the building before finding one that was propped open and removing electronics from the building.

The footage reportedly showed Dale moving the items into an adjacent wooded area to hide them. Later footage showed the items being moved from the woods to a truck, from which authorities identified Foreman as the owner of the vehicle.

Police said there was no evidence Foreman assisted in the burglary himself, and he only seemed to have driven the vehicle. Foreman told authorities he had no idea the items were stolen the day of the theft, but he had heard about it through another party and kept the items in his car.

Foreman said he had picked Dale up in the truck after the theft, and Dale was subsequently arrested in a nearby hotel.
