Love, life and loss mingle at Stained Glass Theatre's production of "Our Town."
Set in the early 1900s in the small town of Grover's Corners, it depicts the simplicity of life in three acts: "Daily Life," "Love and Marriage" and "Death and Eternity."
"It is a classic," said Candy Treat, who is directing the show with her husband, Curtis Treat.
The couple first did "Our Town" in college and took it to a national competition in Oklahoma.
"We've got a really good cast. We've got some new people and some veterans, so it's always good to have that mix," Curtis Treat said.
A few of the actors in the show include Steve Feldman as the Stage Manager, Ashlyn Sherman as Emily Webb and Zack Wachter as George Gibbs.
"I think it'll remind them of simpler times, but I also think it will remind them of things that are important," Candy Treat said. "A lot of times we're so busy in our lives that we forget the simple things like smelling the coffee and a pretty sunrise or spending time with family, and it reminds us to take notice of the simple things that are important in life that we should give recognition to."
"Our Town" opens April 11 and also runs April 12, 13 18, 19 and 20 at the theatre, located at 830 E. High St. Thursday and Friday shows begin at 7 p.m. and Saturday shows begin at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $16 and can be purchased on the Stained Glass Theatre website, sgtmidmo.org.
