Capital City focused on tasks at hand in Class 5 track championships

Last season, the Capital City Cavaliers ended one point away from the school’s first postseason team trophy. This year, the Cavaliers are hungry for more.

“They’re definitely hungry to get a plaque, but I’ve told them that our goal is not to go out and try to get a state plaque. Our goal is to focus on the event that we have first, and then focus on the event that we have second and continue on,” Capital City coach Scott Gschwender said. “What happens, happens. I’m trying to take that pressure off, of course how kids are, they’re going to build the pressure.
