Chicago man sentenced on drug charge

A Chicago man was sentenced to a decade in prison after pleading guilty to a Cole County drug charge from 2021.

Maurice McArthur, 32, pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance last week.

A Cole County Sheriff's Department probable cause statement said officers served a narcotics search warrant in July 2021 at Quality Inn and Suites on Jefferson Street where they reportedly found McArthur and his girlfriend in possession of 76 grams of marijuana, 10.4 grams of crack cocaine and more than $10,300 in cash.
