Modern art fans to gather for tour, unique creation

by Gemma Asel | June 8, 2023 at 4:00 a.m.

Fans of modern art will be gathering on High Street for a one-of-a-kind event Friday night.

Missouri River Regional Library in Jefferson City is partnering with the Museum of Modern Art for a unique pairing of a modern art tour and art lesson.

You can choose between one of three tour times: 3-4:30 p.m., 5-6:30 p.m. or the adults-only 6:30-8 p.m. The two earlier times are suitable for all ages. Families, adults and teens alike will enjoy both the tour and the art projects.

Participants will walk down High Street to the Museum of Modern Art to enjoy a docent-led tour of several different artists, including an original Picasso.

Following the tour, you will be free to explore the museum before making your way back to the library park to create your own modern art piece under the instruction of a local artist.

Pre-registration is required for this event.
