Artese Stapleton has found a new basketball home.

Stapleton, who led the Lincoln Blue Tigers in scoring last season, has transferred to Kansas City. He will be a graduate student with one year of eligibility for the Roos.

A 6-foot-3 guard, Stapleton earned first-team all-MIAA honors this season for the Blue Tigers. He was second in the conference in scoring at 17.3 points, reaching double-digits in 25 of Lincoln’s 26 games.

Kansas City will be Stapleton’s fourth school. He played the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons at Lewis, then spent one season at Radford.

The Roos got a close look at Stapleton last season when Lincoln traveled to Kansas City and posted a 59-56 victory against the NCAA D-I school. He scored 16 points, pulled down eight rebounds and played a team-high 38 minutes in that game.

Kansas City finished 11-21 overall last season, 7-11 in the Summit League.
