Weekend crash injures Jefferson City man

A two-car collision left a Jefferson City man moderately injured Saturday night.

The Jefferson City Police Department responded to a vehicle crash with injuries shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday on Southwest Boulevard at Route C, according to the department's crash report.

The scene investigation revealed Kendra McElroy, 44, of Jefferson City, was driving a 2013 Hyundai Accent northbound on Southwest Boulevard with a 14-year-old passenger, and intended to turn left on Route C.

McElroy turned into the path of Michael Wyrick, 64, of Jefferson City, driving a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Southwest Boulevard with Christian Wyrick, 28, of Jefferson City, as a passenger, resulting in an angled impact.

Wyrick reported moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital by EMS. The other individuals involved reported no injuries and declined treatment at the scene. Traffic in the area was restricted for approximately 20 minutes while JCPD investigated the scene.
