Nourish a Nurse is set for Wednesday.

The Jefferson City Host Lions Club will host a ham and bean and chili dinner (to be served to nurses free of charge). But the public is also invited to participate and enjoy a hot meal for $10.

The event rotates annually between Nourish a Nurse, Feed a Fireman, and Ticket a Cop, and serves between 2,500 and 3,000 people each year.

It distributes 200 gallons of chili and 300 gallons of ham and beans annually.

The event is curbside service during two servings from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 4-6:30 p.m. at Selinger Exhibit Hall, 216 Broadway St.

Ham and beans will come with sauerkraut, cornbread and a brownie.

Chili dinners come with crackers, a hot dog, cornbread and a brownie.

Limited indoor dining is available.

To receive your tickets, contact any Lions Club member you know or call Dennis Licklider at 573-301-5373.
