WARDSVILLE -- The Jamestown Lady Eagles began their postseason Tuesday night with a 59-37 victory against the Tuscumbia Lady Lions in the first round of the Class 1 District 9 Tournament at Blair Oaks High School.
Jolene Sorrells led the third-seeded Lady Eagles with 15 points, adding nine rebounds, five steals and three assists. She also shot 6-of-7 at the free-throw line.
Olivia Meisenheimer added 12 points and Alyssa Hees also reached double figures with 10 points.
Tuscumbia, the No. 6 seed, ends its season with a 4-21 record.
Jamestown (14-11) plays second-seeded Pilot Grove (22-5) at 7:15 p.m. today at Blair Oaks Middle School. In their regular-season meeting Jan. 31 at Jamestown, Pilot Grove came away with a 63-54 victory.
