Santa made his annual stop early Wednesday morning at the Special Learning Center.

He brought cheer to most of the children at the center.

He also frightened a few.

And he had gifts for each child.

Along with Santa were some local emergency responders and Tom Henke, as the former St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher brought a gift for the SLC.

In October, he hosted his 29th annual Tom Henke Golf Classic to raise money for the center. Over those three decades, his efforts have brought in about $1.5 million for the center.

On Wednesday, he presented the school with an oversized check for $36,300.

The center serves more than 900 children through therapy programs, special-education classes, child care and other services.
