An Ameren Missouri power outage affected about 4,900 of the electric utility's customers in Holts Summit and New Bloomfield early Friday afternoon.
According to a power company spokeswoman, the outage started at 12:24 p.m. because of a mechanical failure on one of the provider's sub-transmission lines.
Multiple customers' power had been restored within about 10 minutes, Ameren officials said. Power for all customers was restored in about 30 minutes.
