Spooky season is here, Mid-Mo

Although Halloween falls on a Monday this year, Mid-Missouri provides plenty of events for all to enjoy this spook-tacular season.

Saturday, Oct. 22

Witches and Wizards: Come test your knowledge of the wizarding world. United Development is hosting a trivia night, costume contest and a butterbeer and other specialty drinks. Tables are $80 and hold up to eight people. Event proceeds support Soldiers' Angels Warm Feet for Warriors. For each package of socks donated, a ticket will be entered into a raffle on your behalf. Hosted at Windstone Entertainment, 2425 Industrial Drive, doors open at 6 p.m. and trivia begins at 7.

Seventh annual Spooktacular: From 10 a.m.-6 p.m., bring the children for a corn maze, face paint, wagon and train rides, and candy at Beyond the Barn in Loose Creek, 1343 U.S. 63. Tickets are $11 for age 2 and older. Sweet Bees Shaved Ice will be available for purchase. Goat feed is $1 per bag; all other activities are included in the gate price.

Capital Fitness Costume Deadlift Party: Pump iron at Capital Fitness, in costume! Members and non-members are welcome. Come, hang out or lift starting at 6 p.m. at 2425 Industrial Drive Suite F.

SERVE Inc. Halloween Charity Ball: Join if you dare for a night of drinks, costumes and adult-only Halloween fun. Ticket prices range from $35-$55. It's hosted at 8 p.m. at the Fulton Country Club, 701 E. 10th St. in Fulton.

Killin' It at Killabrew: A Halloween drag show is at 8:30 p.m. at Killabrews Pub, 103 W. Fifth St. in Fulton. Hosted by Venus O'Hara and Natalia Masters, the performance will feature a cast of characters that will surely entertain. This event is for those 21 and older, and tickets must be purchased via nclusionplus.com.

"Hocus Pocus" Interactive Watch Party: Callaway County Public Library, 710 Court St. in Fulton, will host a watch party at 1 p.m. for the 1993 "Hocus Pocus" film. The event is for adults and teens; costumes are welcome.

Thursday, Oct. 27

A Wickedly Evil Night of Music: Halloween inspired music performances from spooky musicals, the evening will include multiple artists, some evil, comedic and villainous. Drinks from Shrunken Head are available for purchase. Tickets purchased at the door for $15 or reserved by emailing [email protected]. The event is at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27-28 at Scene One Theatre, 623 Ohio St.

The Haunting of Green Berry: A tradition of Jefferson City, the annual flash mob style performance by McRaven Ballrooms will be in the front yard of 1824 Green Berry Road. The show begins at 8 p.m. Oct. 27-28.

BOOs, Brews and BBQ: From 4-7 p.m., there will be an evening of pumpkin decorating, refreshments, barbecue with local breweries, as well a trunk or treat for children at Primrose Retirement Community, 1214 Freedom Blvd.

Jefferson City High School Jack-o-Lantern Jam: Join JCHS Student Council at 6 p.m. at 609 Union St. for games, treats and scares! The event is for elementary-aged children and their parents or guardians. Coats of all sizes will be accepted for the Salvation Army.

Friday, Oct. 28

Phantom Field Haunted Hayride: Callaway Cares presents a haunted hayride for all ages; it's $10 per adult and $5 per child 10 and under. All proceeds will go toward the Callaway Cares Street Outreach Program. Festivities are from 5-11 p.m. all weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) at Red Maples Community, 5315 Red Maple Lane in Fulton.

Saturday, Oct. 29

Trick or Treat at Hy-Vee: Join from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. for trick-or-treating around the store and kid-friendly activities at the Jefferson City Hy-Vee location, 3721 W Truman Blvd.

Fall Family Fun Fest: Jefferson City First Church of God, 1614 Southwest Blvd., invites the community for family friendly fun from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. There will be games, a bounce house, popcorn, hot dogs and candy.

High Street Trick or Treat: The annual event expects to bring thousands to downtown Jefferson City businesses for Halloween goodies. The event runs from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Costume Pawty and Fall Festival: Muttz to Miracles Rescue and Rehabilitation Center is hosting its annual Halloween party from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The event, at the North Jefferson City Recreation Area, 927 Fourth St., includes carnival games, pet photos, and costume contests for children, adults and dogs. Admission is $1 and $2.50 for carnival admission.

Haunted Hustle 5K: Hitachi Energy is hosting a non-competitive 5K to raise money for The Sneaker Project. The race will start and finish at the North Jefferson City Building, 810 Sandstone St. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. Ticket packages range from $20-$30.

Parson Family Fall Festival and Trick-or-Treating: This free, outdoor event at the Governor's Mansion will feature several vendors, children's activities and music. Activities include a bounce house, face painting, trick-or-treating and more. The Kay Brothers will perform bluegrass music.

Chiveoween Havoc: Party with a purpose, Chive on Missouri is presenting a costume party, silent auction, DJ and speciality drinks to benefit Chive Charities. This year there is a new location, Bones in the Alley Bar, 210 Commercial Ave. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $20 at the door. The party gets underway at 7 p.m.

Mid Mo Audio Trunk or Treat: Mid Mo Audio in Fulton, 4778 Route HH, is hosting a trunk or treat at 7 p.m.

Howl-O-Ween Trunk or Treat: Loving Paws, 500 Hunter Lane, is hosting a trunk or treat for children and pets from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There will be pet photos available and a costume contest.

Holts Summit Police Department Trunk or Treat: Holts Summit Police Department, 245 S. Summit Drive, is hosting a trunk or treat from 6-8 p.m. Visit vendors from businesses, community groups and other Emergency Management teams.

American Legion Post 5 Trunk or Treat: Roscoe Enloe Post 5, 1423 Tanner Bridge Road, is hosting a trunk or treat from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Landmark Church Trunk or Treat: Landmark Church is hosting a trunk or treat from 5-7 p.m. at 208 Metro Drive (corrected address).

Trinity Lutheran Trunk or Treat: Trinity Lutheran Youth Group, 803 Swifts Highway, is hosting a trunk or treat from 1-3 p.m. in the lower church parking lot.

Immanuel Trunk or Treat: Immanuel Lutheran Church, 8231 Tanner Bridge Road, is hosting a trunk or treat from 3-5 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 30

Howl-O-Ween at Art 101: Let your dog be a Pupcasso! For $40, your dog may paint, enter drawings and visit the Premium Pet's Waggin' Wagon. Costumes welcome, and all proceeds benefit Friends of JC Animal Shelter and Yadi's Pittie Pals. It's from 2:30-5 p.m. at Art 101 on Boonville, 101 Boonville Road.

The Great Pumpkin Park Party: Crafts, scary stories, pumpkin carving, painting and more will be provided by JC Parks at Binder Lake Park, 5840 Rainbow Drive. The evening will begin with witch crafts by Capital Arts Gallery at 4 p.m. The night will conclude with a haunted hayride from 7-9 p.m.

St. Stanislaus School Trunk or Treat: St. Stanislaus School, 6410 Route W, is hosting a trunk or treat from 2-3:30 p.m.

Jefferson City Jaycees Trunk or Treat: The Jefferson City Jaycees are partnering with local law enforcement to present the 14th annual trunk or treat at the Cole County Fairgrounds, 1445 Fairgrounds Road. A $1 per child donation is required, and all funds raised support Operation T.O.Y.S.

Monday, Oct. 31

Trick or Treat on the Bricks: The Brick District in downtown Fulton will host trick or treating at Fifth and Sixth streets in Fulton.

Elston First Baptist Church Trunk or Treat: The First Baptist Church in Elston, 1204 Route T, is hosting a trunk or treat from 5-7 p.m.

Union Hill Baptist Church Trunk or Treat: Union Hill Baptist, 460 S. Summit Drive, is hosting a trunk or treat from 6-7:30 p.m.

StoneBridge Senior Living Trunk or Treat: StoneBridge Senior Living, 1030 Edmonds St., is hosting a trunk or treat that begins at 4 p.m.

Wesley UMC Trunk or Treat: Wesley UMC, 2727 Wesley St., is hosting a trunk or treat from 6-7:30 p.m.

Faith Lutheran Trunk or Treat: Faith Lutheran, 2027 Industrial Drive, is hosting a trunk or treat from 4-6 p.m. in the lower parking lot.
