by Anna Campbell | October 20, 2022 at 4:00 a.m.

The Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety will conduct a mock car crash scene in Jefferson City at Capital City High School on Friday as part of the Buckle Up Phone Down initiative.

The mock crash is intended to show students the consequences of distracted driving and necessity of wearing a seat belt, MoDOT said in the Wednesday announcement.

The demonstration will take place from 1:45-2:30 p.m. Friday and representatives from the Jefferson City fire and police departments, as well as the Missouri Highway Patrol and other organizations, will be present.
