Prep Cross Country: Jefferson City at Laker Invitational

CAMDENTON -- Ella Jobe posted a ninth-place finish Saturday to lead the Jefferson City Lady Jays in the girls race at the Camdenton Laker Invitational.

Jobe clocked a time of 20:19.25 to earn a top-10 finish. The Lady Jays placed seventh as a team with 135 points in the Gold Division.

Adelaide Jones was next for Jefferson City, taking 26th place out of 66 runners in a time of 21:34.02, while Jenna Schnipper was next with a time of 21:36.54 to place 28th. Makayla Cordes was 32nd in 21:56.10 and Ashlynn Williams took 57th in 24:23.47 to round out the Lady Jays’ team score.

The Jefferson City Jays finished ninth as a team in the boys Gold Division with 212 points.

Jackson Gerbes had the top time for the Jays, finishing in 23rd place out of 67 runners with a time of 17:51.76.

Bradyn Maupin was next for Jefferson City, placing 31st in 18:18.86, while Josh Conger finished 50th in 19:03.28. Noah Woodruff was 64th in 21:04.20 and David Reeves was 67th in 21:38.28 for the Jays.

Jefferson City will compete in the Capital City Invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday at Binder Park.
