A successful search and rescue operation took place Monday in Osage County.

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 4 p.m. to check the well being of an individual in the area of County Road 208 near Route N on the east side of the county.

Sheriff Mike Bonham said a 50-year female had called her husband to report her car was stuck in the mud and she was not sure where she was located. After the initial phone call, she was not answering her phone.

Sheriff’s deputies began searching with a drone after obtaining a general location from pinging her phone. They also deployed all-terrain vehicles in the area.

Owensville Rural Fire Protection District personnel assisted in the ground search, and the Missouri Highway Patrol deployed an aircraft with infrared cameras.

Bonham said the woman's car was located in a ravine off a private road at approximately 11:15 p.m. She was transported to a Jefferson City hospital for medical attention.
