Girls Basketball: Eugene 64, Vienna 33

EUGENE -- The Eugene Lady Eagles piled up plenty of points in the first quarter Wednesday to win 64-33 against the Vienna Lady Eagles in the loser’s bracket semifinals of the Eugene Tournament.

Eugene scored 29 points in the first quarter to lead by 19 points after the opening eight minutes. Eugene pushed its lead to 41-16 by halftime and 51-21 at the end of the third quarter.

Olivia Angerer scored a game-high 26 points for Eugene, all in the first three quarters. Kaylee Kempker also reached double figures with 11 points.

Aubrey Schwartze led Vienna with 13 points.

Eugene (3-1), the No. 5 seed, will face Linn in the fifth-place game at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Vienna (1-2), the No. 8 seed, plays Belle in the seventh-place game at 4 p.m. Friday.
